A Compendium of Speed-Up methods
alright, im trying to compile a list of all the different ways to speed up the game and eliminate lag... so please give input here. this can be anything from a modification of one of the guild wars options (like frame-rate or visual quality) to computer modifications.
here is the two ill start it off with (keep in mind that "get a better computer or internet host" doesn't count): -if you have verison DSL, see if you can't get their recent speed upgrade for free (im still checking on this... all i know is they say their DSL now should go 3 times faster and mine is still running at 100Mbs). -lower visual quality under the options menu. -defragment and clean your computer out (disc clean-up, defragment, clear temporary internet files, etc.) |

if i might add:
turn off all unnecessary programs running in the background, although it wont make much of a difference on a higher end pc, the slightly older ones will get a lil boost in performance if you go into the system properties of your pc, hit the advanced tab, click on settings for performance; click and apply "adjust for best performance" that should help out a bit more EDIT: just a lil note inferno, what you said your DSL speed was is most likely your LAN speed (by the looks of it, you've got your modem connected via a networking card) a decent DSL line should be bout 3 mbs, although it depends on the isp and wantnot Last edited by Thanato; Jun 22, 2005 at 05:30 AM // 05:30.. |

alright, thanks for the input guys... and as for the DSL/Lan... i am indeed running off a networking card... though i would truly prefer to run on the DSL modem i have hooked up at full capacity.
